Most of the people we chat with here on AudioInferno started playing music when they were young. Growing over the years, they learnt from the bands that inspire them, some played like their favourite band, some others went into some other genre trying to create their own sounds and melody.
There are some out of the norm bands like Mechina, I haven’t seen any band that sound like them. If you have, please contact me.
What I’m trying to say is that you never know what these peeps or bands went through to make this music just to entertain us. We should support them, they need our support because it’s by that, that they continue to entertain and rock fists with us \m/. I know of bands that have written their songs set lists, they try to raise budgets just to record and all for the fans. It’s never easy.
Atlantic South is a metalcore band that hails from Capetown, South Africa. I call them the CP metallers (Which includes all the metal bands from Capetown). They were formed in late 2013, well this is late 2015 and they are still walking the metal earth metalizing everywhere!!!
Atlantic South is going to be launching their EP titled “Atlantic South” on Nov 7, you guys that stay around that vicinity should go and support them.
You can learn more about the event on the Facebook page for it HERE
Anyway, I did my thing, and sat down with Gareth Howard from the band, actually we buddies in the spirit of Metal
Gareth Howard spoke to us about recording their album and more. Read what he had to say!
Austin Of AudioInferno: Give me a brief introduction to your band.
Gareth Howard of Atlantic South:
We are 5 very different guys who all have the same vision. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and we make sure we always have fun.
AI: So what inspired the writing of the album?
We all have our own inspiration however we all had the same concept in mind to write something powerful, heavy and melodic with positive messages behind the music.
AI: Where was the album recorded and mastered?
The album was recorded at 7 string studios in Durbanville and recorded, mixed and mastered by Neil Bezuidenhoudt
AI: So your EP is gonna be launched in a matter of days, is it everything you wished for and waited for?
Absolutely. There have been some very stressful moments but the hard work we believe has paid off. Also we couldn’t have done it without all the help from Carla Cubic of 7 String Studios. At the end of the day we have an EP that we are proud of and can’t wait for the fans to hear it.
