Dark Suburb, the alternative band from Ghana, have released a music video for one of the singles off their upcoming album. The song is Mama and it features Wiyaala. The video shows the after effects of the June 3, fire and flood disaster that happened in Accra, Ghana, last year.
Dark Suburb: The video directed by Deon Wills, is dedicated to all the victims of the June 3rd fire and flood disaster and also to all women across Africa.
I’m not sure I really like the video, I felt that more could have been done with the subject of the song pertaining to the flood. Perhaps, more of a story? Regardless, it uses great visuals and highlights the usual dark imagery we’ve come to expect from a Dark Suburb video. Wiyaala looked really fierce and awesome. It’s a good tribute to the flood victims, if not the best. As usual, the song itself is brilliant as you would expect from these guys.
