Johannesburg-based South African metal quartet, Red Helen announced that the 17th of February, 2017 will be the day that their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Trading Past for Pathways’ will be made available online for digital download and streaming.
Currently available for pre-order exclusively on Bandcamp, the album will be made available digitally on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and a host of other online stores on the day of its release.
Trading Past for Pathways, which was recorded and produced by Watts Productions and mastered by Audio Militia, will be supported by a launch tour across South Africa and a brand new music video directed by Eric Barnfather of OneDaySky.
“This album represents the last 4 years of our lives. We’ve had a lot of ups and downs over the past few years, from having our gear stolen to performing at Wacken Open Air in Germany. Trading Past for Pathways is the culmination of our experiences and world views made musical, and we’d like to dedicate our efforts to all the people who’ve supported us for the past 5 years based solely on our live shows and a few singles. It feels like we’ve created something bigger than ourselves and can’t wait to share it with our amazing fans!” – Greg Van Kerkhof, Bass Player.
Known for their electrifying live performances, Red Helen will be performing songs from their debut release to crowds in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria between February and April. Physical copies of Trading Past for Pathways, T-shirts and other merchandise will be made available from the 25th of February, which also marks the first date of the launch tour.
